Our patented brackets mount your wheel lights solid, then let the rings come off when you want them off. No cutting up your rig, no fighting the same bolts every time. Two kits: the Jeep 17 inch kit and the Truck 20 inch kit.

Instructions & Install

Everything for these brackets lives right here on the page. The install steps follow our own install video, start to finish, and the bench assembly comes straight from our assembly sheet. Work through it in order, one corner at a time.

Before You Start

Before You Start

Read This First

  • Disconnect the battery before any wiring.
  • If your rig runs an auxiliary switch panel, disconnect the panel at the switched fuse so every circuit stays dead while you work.
  • Use a jack to lift the weight off the vehicle at each corner before you start on that corner. It matters on a Jeep or a truck, front and rear.
  • Match each bracket to its corner before you start. They are labeled driver front, driver rear, passenger front, and passenger rear to keep this simple.
  • DIY kit? Bench assemble the rings first. That is the next card. If your kit came preassembled, skip straight to the front install.

Wiring Note

On the wheel lights in this kit, only the red and black wires are used. The blue and white wires are not used.

Bench Assembly

Bench Assembly (DIY Kit)

Tap to expand

Building the DIY kit on the bench? Work through these steps for all four rings before anything goes on the vehicle.

  1. Remove the existing zip ties from the wheel light assembly, carefully.
  2. Remove the light strips. Carefully peel back and remove the light strips from each wheel light ring.
  3. Remove all existing brackets from each ring, and discard the old screws and the brackets you removed.
  4. Rear bracket assembly. Align the wheel light brackets in the raceway of the ring. The brackets only go on one way: the holes align when the ring holes are in the elevated position, and laying the ring flat makes it easier. If the holes do not match up, flip the ring. Ignore the holes from the old brackets, they are no longer used. New holes are predrilled for our patented bracket installation. A little pressure to align the holes is normal. Repeat for the rear driver and rear passenger assemblies.
  5. Front driver and front passenger assembly. Align the joint of the ring with the bracket exactly as shown in the install video. That orientation is critical on the front corners. Secure with the provided button socket cap screws at each bracket tab, and keep going until every tab is fastened.
  6. Install the light strips. Lay the ring flat. The shorter strip is the inner light, the longer strip is the outer light. Set the inner strip to the inside of the ring, aligning the joint of the ring with the joint of the light. Peel back about 6 inches of the red film on the 3M tape at a time, set the strip so both screws stay accessible, then follow the ring around and adhere the whole strip. Repeat for the outer strip. Keep the 3M tape and the ring joint evenly spaced from the screws so both stay accessible. At the bracket tabs it is normal for the strip to bulge slightly over the ring. Repeat for all four rings.
Done

Once all four rings are built, you are ready to install your Shoreline patented wheel light brackets on the vehicle.

Front Install

Front Install

Demonstrated in our video on a 2021 Jeep JT. Start on the driver front, with the weight lifted off that corner.

  1. Remove the two knuckle bolts at the top of the knuckle. On the driver side they are at the top right of the knuckle.
  2. Set the upper bracket in place. Take the two nuts off the driver kit plate, slide the plate in over the knuckle in the orientation shown in the video, and insert the two bolts back in. Hand tighten for now, then torque to manufacturer specs.
  3. Fit the lower bracket. Remove the bolt on the back side of the knuckle, on the lower left of the driver front knuckle, and install the lower bracket. Reinstall the bolt but leave it loose. This bracket is adjustable and gets tightened after the ring is on.
  4. Open the wheel light ring. Find the splice in the center of the ring and remove the two screws that are most accessible, then open the ring up. The rings are aluminum, opening them will not damage them.
  5. Seat the ring. Come around the front, underneath the axle, and watch out for the brake lines. Line the ring up and set it into the top bracket and the bottom bracket.
  6. Fasten it down. Go to the other side, install the washer, and thread the nuts onto the studs. Close the seam without pinching the wires, install the seam screw, put all the nuts on the threaded studs, and tighten each location with a 7/16. Then tighten down that loose lower bracket bolt from step 3.
  7. Repeat on the passenger front. Same process: two bolts up top, upper bracket in and tightened, lower bolt kept loose until the ring is on, then everything secured.

Rear Install

Rear Install

Tap to expand

Good News

You cannot mix these up. The rear brackets are labeled passenger rear and driver rear. The top and bottom brackets are made the same, and driver and passenger are made the same, so the rears cannot be mixed up. The only thing that matters is orientation: up and down, not side to side.

The Rear Install

  1. Take the top and lower brackets off the ring assembly. They mount to the back of the rear axle first, on their own.
  2. Install the top bracket first and torque the nuts down to manufacturer specs. Do not install the top and the bottom at the same time.
  3. Then do the bottom. Remove the bolts at the bottom and install the lower clip.
  4. Hang the ring. Hang the wheel light brackets on the uppers, then reattach the wheel ring.
  5. Secure everything. Get all of the nuts on and tightened down. That corner is done.
  6. Repeat on the other rear corner. The rear driver side is the exact same way: two on the top, two on the lower.
